I'm considering dark gray or black for the undercarriage and wheel wells, and either desert sand or "sans panties" (halfway between sand and OD green) for the body color.ĭid you roll or spray it on? Was about 2 gallons for the body what you ended using? I just read through a 60+ page thread on a jeep forum that has me pretty close to doing this on my van when its time. sprayed or rolled and how many gallons did you use? Mine was painstakingly stripped to a bare metal shell & shot in with epoxy primer. I am getting my van ready for monstaliner as well. "Ron Burgundy": 1991 Vanagon Multivan (Weekender) 2.1L Auto - Driver/Camper Promo code in case others didn't see my othe thread: I also got the $50 gun, extra can, and mini roller kit. I'm curious about amounts too.I gambled on 2 gallons of burn orange to go over a brown van with a spray gun. So if you're planning on doing the same thing I would give them a call and be more prepared than I was. I think it would be great if monsta liner produced a video for this process. So what I did is I waited eight hours and figured I would use a razor blade to cut the tape free if wasn't necessary except for a few spots. After I painted the Second coat of black, I tried to remove the tape once it tacked up,it's seem to want to peel the black Monster liner up from the surface, kinda like it was fruit leather. Now here's the important part I almost left out because I almost forgot, after I applied the "yank my doodle" I taped off the area with Green low tack painters tape to paint the black. But it was possible to go black over the top of tan(yank my doodle) if necessary.I use the supplied rollers to apply the paint in both cases and I ordered two roller kits. I painted the tan first and then I did the black because I was informed by monsta liner that you can't go tan over black. It looks like it's pastel white because the surface is mostly sanded in the first pictures. I ended up with a third of a gallon of black going to waste because it was just too much in hindsight I would've prepped an area on the interior floorboards or somewhere to use it as a sound deadener. The original color is a tan Westfalia color. I used 1 gallon of yank my doodle and 1 gallon of black. Quick sort: Show newest posts on top | Show oldest posts on top
